We are Janik and Danny, two old school friends from Germany who in 2023 took the leap and rowed across the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness for children’s education. We participated in the World’s Toughest Row which took us 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. Our rowing boat Gratitude was 100% human-powered, unsupported, and self-sufficient.
WE DID IT!
We rowed across the Atlantic Ocean to push limits and raise money for children’s education. An expedition that required intensive physical and mental preparation, funds to buy a professional boat, reliable gear and supplies. We arrived in Antigua after 49 days 4 hours and 6 minutes.
Our Charities
We chose two charities that we wanted to support with our expedition. Both organisations advocate for children education. Ozeankind concentrates on educating children on plastic pollution, and the Bali Children’s Project focuses on making education available for children from poor circumstances in rural Bali.

Who are we?

We are facing the challenge of rowing 4800 kilometres across the Atlantic. Now add to that the fact that we both live on different continents of the world. That’s where things get interesting.
